During the event, visitors could take part in many opportunities to explore and discuss critically important environmental and social issues, such as reducing the amount of plastic, the civil and circular economy, sustainable tourism, but also solidarity, integration and agroecology, with an entire pavilion dedicated to this subject, where Romagnoli F.lli S.p.A. was also on show.
This exhibition area gave space to showcasing the right healthy diet and promoting virtuous supply chains, as well as special events (such as cooking shows and tasting sessions) and more innovative agrifood projects which primarily focus on reducing chemical treatments as well as energy and water consumption, such as those run by Romagnoli F.lli S.p.A., which was able to present its own initiatives in this area to the festival audience.
Sustainable farming and a healthy diet were the stars of the show at Festambiente with the agroecology pavilion, underlining the need and importance of identifying new economic development models to save the climate and the Planet. Agriculture in this sense plays a key role, as highlighted during the meeting “When sustainability works as a system, from field to table”, which was attended by Roberto Chiesa, the sales manager of Romagnoli F.lli S.p.A. Romagnoli F.lli S.p.A. has really been involved with these issues since 2013 with the project “Field Potatoes - Friend of the Environment” for better, more rational management of water resources in growing potatoes and onions. While this year, the company achieved outstanding results with the trials run on a new generation of potato varieties, in partnership with Legambiente and the DIBAF at Tuscia University, which helped significantly reduce the number of pesticide treatments, without any repercussions on quality standards and production.
Alongside the exhibition stands, debates and snack bars which only use short-chain, organic products, Festambiente also offered music to spread its environmental message through artists the likes of Daniele Silvestri, Diodato, Mirkoeilcane, The Zen Circus, Max Gazzé, Carmen Consoli and Alpha Blondy, who played on the “#salvailclima stage” during the event.
