64,500 meals donated thanks to sales of “Patata di Campo-Amica dell’ambiente” at Ce.Di. Gros stores in Lazio.
People have warmly welcomed and taken part in the “Una mano dal campo” eco-solidarity campaign promoted by Legambiente along with Romagnoli F.lli S.p.A. and Ce.Di. Gros for Banco Alimentare del Lazio ODV. This participation resulted in the sale of 64,500 packs of “Patata di Campo - Amica dell’ambiente”, which equates to a donation by Romagnoli F.lli S.p.A. to Banco Alimentare to hand out enough food for 64,500 meals*.
“We’re delighted that this solidarity campaign was so successful and we’d like to thank Ce.Di. Gros and their customers for having embraced it and supporting it with similar dedication”, emphasised Giulio Romagnoli, the CEO of Romagnoli F.lli S.p.A. “When you’re called to offer real help to people in difficulty, all of us have the duty to do our part, from individual consumers to a socially responsible company like Romagnoli. It is especially in times like these, which are difficult on several fronts, that we need to keep offering effective support to the most vulnerable”.
“We’re very satisfied with the work we’ve just done in social and commercial terms. Having properly conveyed to our markets the combination between product sales and solid support for less wealthy people in the region through the partnership between Romagnoli F.lli S.p.A. and Banco Alimentare, we have seen unexpected spikes in sales. All of this is undoubtedly highlighting the social awareness of our entrepreneurs and customers, alongside the quality of the promoted product, both of which guarantee the success we’ve achieved”, confirmed Giancarlo Amitrano, from the Ce.Di. Gros Purchasing Office.
“Una mano dal campo” is a project that shows Romagnoli F.lli S.p.A.’s commitment to sustainable agriculture for people and the environment. In fact, “Patata di Campo-Amica dell’ambiente” potatoes, at the heart of this eco-solidarity initiative, are the result of the collaboration between the company and Legambiente for High-Quality Italian Agriculture. This high-quality potato supply chain, grown using low-pressure and high-efficiency irrigation systems, helps reduce water consumption by 30%.
