A classic #zerowaste recipe, this chocolate salami is the most popular homemade non-bake dessert among young and old alike, and perfect for a quick summer snack.
Ingredients for 8 people
Dark chocolate, 200g
Eggs, 2 medium (near their expiry date)
Dry (old) biscuits, 250g
Unsweetened cocoa powder, 10g
Butter (at room temperature), 150g
Icing sugar, 80g
Preparation
First of all, chop the dark chocolate very finely, put it in a large bowl and melt it in a bain-marie or in a microwave. While it is cooling down, roughly crumble the dry biscuits with your hands.
Pour the butter into another bowl and mix it with a spatula until it softens, then add the icing sugar. Mix it until you get an even mixture, then add the chocolate (which will now be at room temperature) and keep stirring it well. Pour the eggs in too and mix well. At this point, sieve the cocoa powder into the mixture and stir until it is mixed in well. Move the dough onto a sheet of baking paper.
Use your hands to shape the dough until it looks like a salami, then move it onto a sheet of cling film and wrap it up, closing the ends like a sweet. This will give the dessert a more precise shape. Leave the chocolate salami to set in the refrigerator for at least three hours. Once this time is up, remove the cling film, decorate it with icing sugar to taste and slice it. Bon appétit!
