Even if you protected your skin during summer with the right factor sun cream, it’s likely that the wind, sun and salt (if you’ve been to the sea) have made it particularly dry.
Here are a few surprising DIY solutions to make your skin soft and radiant again.
Milk. Mix four tablespoons of milk, two of aloe vera gel and two of extra virgin olive oil. Stir them together until you get a creamy mixture and apply onto clean, dry skin. Rinse it off after a few minutes. You will instantly notice a pleasant feeling of freshness.
Coconut oil. Mix the coconut oil with a tablespoon of honey and apply the mixture onto your skin, then rinse it off thoroughly after 20 minutes. The coconut oil will make your skin soft and supple, preventing it from peeling.
Honey. Dry, red skin will be a distant memory thanks to the nourishing effect of honey! Take three tablespoons of honey and one of plain yoghurt, mix together thoroughly, then apply this cream onto your skin and leave it to rest for 15/20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
Potatoes. To soothe the irritating burning sensation of sunburn, apply very thin slices of potato onto any red areas for a few minutes. The solanine found in potatoes is a good way to prevent peeling and the formation of blisters (see also: natural remedies for excessive sun exposure).
