From 22 to 30 November, at all Ce.Di. Gros stores in Lazio, when you buy a pack of “Patata di Campo-Amica dell’ambiente” potatoes, you will be supporting charities working around Lazio.
Once again to offer real support to people living in hardship, in the spirit of solidarity and social and environmental sustainability, the second edition of the “Una mano dal campo” eco-solidarity campaign is under way, promoted once again this year by Romagnoli F.lli Spa with Legambiente and Ce.Di. Gros forBanco Alimentare. From tomorrow until 30 November, at all Ce.Di. Gros stores in Lazio, for each 1.5 kg pack of “Patata di Campo-Amica dell’ambiente” potatoes purchased, Romagnoli F.lli Spa will donate enough for a meal to Banco Alimentare.
The scenario shown by the latest Istat data for 2021 confirms the number of people living below the poverty line, which has been at around 5.6 million for two years (9.4% of the population): the negative effects of the pandemic are therefore undoubtedly continuing on the world of work, further exacerbated by the international conflict, inflation and rising energy prices. This is why the initiative is all the more important, given new impetus by the great appreciation shown by consumers last time.
“We are proud to have renewed the project once again this year”, emphasised Giulio Romagnoli, the CEO of Romagnoli F.lli Spa. “At this particular time when more and more families are falling victim to the jump in prices due to increased inflation and rising bills. As an agri-food company that makes social responsibility one of the essential pillars of its corporate culture, we have strong links to the ‘Una mano dal campo’ initiative, which has great symbolic value and, at the same time, offers real, tangible help. We therefore confirm our support with determination and without any delay”.
“Patata di Campo-Amica dell’ambiente” is the result of the collaboration between Romagnoli F.lli S.p.A. and Legambiente for High-Quality Italian Agriculture. It is a supply chain of high-quality potatoes with great organoleptic properties and excellent flavour, exclusively grown in Italy by farmers who focus on issues of environmental sustainability and use low water irrigation systems.
“This initiative focuses on two points, which have been confirmed by the positive results already achieved from the previous edition”, explained Giorgio Zampetti, the General Manager of Legambiente. “We will offer food products that guarantee safety and use less resources, such as water and energy, a highly topical issue. The products can be recognised from the logo on the packs: ‘Legambiente per l'Agricoltura Italiana di Qualità’ (Laiq or Legambiente for High-Quality Italian Agriculture). Many companies have joined the Laiq campaign, making the commitment to follow our guidelines on supply chain environmental sustainability and, above all, regarding zero chemical residues in products”.
“We are grateful that the initiative has been confirmed. It was created from the protocol signed between the Banco Alimentare Foundation and Co.Se.P.A and once again involves Banco Alimentare del Lazio”, explained Giuliano Visconti, the President of Banco Alimentare del Lazio. “The Romagnoli company has once again made the commitment to sell its products in our region, where he have been helping over 110,000 people in hardship for twenty years, thanks to the facilities associated with Banco Alimentare. We enthusiastically and energetically reaffirm our collaboration with Ce.Di. Gros, in the spirit of a partnership set up to combat waste in Rome and the province”.
“We are delighted by Romagnoli’s involvement in this initiative, underlining the stability of the partnership and the consolidation of our brand in the social fabric of Rome and Lazio. We are continuing our company’s mission, which is to sell quality at the right price as ‘masters of fresh food’, to help the most vulnerable sections of consumers with a simple, essential activity like shopping, while offering products with a low environmental impact”, confirmed Giancarlo Amitrano from the Ce.Di. Gros Purchasing Office. Confirming all this, I would like to add that this year our group will be partnering with Banco Alimentare, playing an active part in food collection week”.
