With all the soap, sanitising gel and disinfectants, have your hands had a tough time in recent weeks?
To keep them soft and moisturised, we’ll show you how to make 4 DIY masks to look after your hands and nails by using everyday products.
Honey and yoghurt. The soothing, emollient and moisturising properties of natural yoghurt make it perfect for skin care. You’ll need to mix a teaspoon of honey with one of yoghurt and apply this mixture onto your hands. Leave it to rest for 15-20 minutes for sure-fire results.
Coconut oil and beeswax. Coconut oil is a precious ally for keeping your hair and hands healthy. Make a mask by mixing a teaspoon of coconut oil with one of beeswax previously dissolved in a bain-marie. Mix well, spread it on your hands and leave it to work for 15 minutes, then rinse.
Olive oil. One of the most popular remedies for repairing damaged hair, strengthening nails and making skin more elastic is olive oil. Apply it onto your hands and leave it to rest for at least 30 minutes before rinsing.
Honey and beeswax. Thanks to their emollient and soothing action, honey and beeswax are two widely used ingredients in skin care products. Melt a teaspoon of beeswax in a bain-marie, add one of honey and mix well. Apply onto your hands and nails and leave it to work for 20-30 minutes. Rinse it off and voilà, your skin will feel like velvet!
To make things more convenient, wear disposable gloves when applying these masks: the ones you usually use for cleaning your home are perfect.
