Solidarity can help bring the community together, and social stakeholders are called to play their part, each in their own way, particularly in extremely difficult situations.
To tackle the difficult economic and social consequences caused by the COVID-19 emergency, the Pilastro Local Development Agency in Bologna, together with the District of San Donato San Vitale and supported by Coop Alleanza 3.0, has promoted the solidarity-based initiative #CarrelloSospeso, which from 14 May to 15 June 2020 is aiming to collect essential foods for families in Bologna experiencing hardship and indicated by local council services. As a member of the Agency, Romagnoli F.lli S.p.A. has also taken part in this initiative by donating 300 kg of potatoes and 150 kg of onions.
“Being part of a community”, explained Giulio Romagnoli, CEO of Romagnoli F.lli S.p.A., “means making a concrete commitment to supporting it and helping the most vulnerable. This is true every day, but even more so in very difficult situations like the one we are experiencing now. We are delighted to be part of this project and to make our contribution to the city, offering the fruits of our labour deeply rooted in a region with which we are grateful to have a strong bond”.
This initiative has already helped collect various products and essential foods thanks to donations from many of our shareholders and partners. This gesture of solidarity has united citizens, associations and economic stakeholders in the region and has so far helped about thirty families.
