A little oil and no hobs for making light, crispy chips. Here is how to make perfect chips in an air fryer with our Alouette variety potatoes.
Tired of ovens and pans? An air fryer is the perfect alternative that lets you cook food using only hot air and a little oil. With our Alouette variety potatoes and their low reducing sugars content, we can make golden brown chips with no black spots.
Ingredients for 4 people
Alouette variety potatoes, 1 kg
Extra virgin olive oil, to taste
Salt, to taste
Water, as required
Preparation
After you have washed and peeled the potatoes, cut them into little sticks about 1.5 cm thick and leave them to soak in cold water for about 30 minutes. Dry them first with a cloth and then for a few minutes at 150 degrees in the air fryer. Once dried, take them out and drizzle them with extra virgin olive oil to taste, all the better if using a spray bottle. Once the oil is spread evenly around, put them in the air fryer and cook at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes. Cooking times can vary, however, based on the air fryer model used, so it is always a good idea to check the desired level of cooking while using the air fryer.
