Have you ever considered using onions for healthier and more beautiful skin? Try, and you’ll see that nature really is full of surprises.
Indeed, it appears that onion juice can make skin healthier and more elastic, giving it a toned appearance thanks to the presence of quercetin, a powerful antioxidant that helps combat wrinkles and prevent precocious skin ageing. Furthermore, thanks to its astringent and anti-bacterial properties, onion juice reduces the excess sebum which causes blemishes and impurities of the skin. Mixed with a few spoonfuls of apple cider vinegar, onion juice is also effective in lightening age spots or liver spots, especially those caused by sun exposure. Finally, onions contain vitamins and sulphur, which help protect the skin against free radicals.
To make onion juice, you can cut an onion in half and use a squeezer, or even put it in a blender or juicer. Then, all you have to do is apply the solution on your skin - especially on the face and neck - as you would with any moisturiser. To maximise its beneficial effects, leave it on for about 10 minutes then rinse thoroughly. If you don’t love the smell, you can try adding a spoonful of plain yoghurt to the mix.
