Guaranteed minimum price: an agreement that protects potato producers

Guaranteed minimum price: an agreement that protects potato producers

Ensuring a sustainable future for the potato supply chain means starting with those who grow it. For this reason, Romagnoli F.lli S.p.A, together with the commercial companies Baschieri Rino S.r.l. and Ortofrutticola Parma S.r.l., has signed a preliminary agreement with Agripat - the producers' organisation specialising in the potato sector - introducing a guaranteed minimum price for the 2026/2027 season.

This concrete initiative was created to provide economic stability to farmers in a complex historical phase and, at the same time, to ensure continuity and quality for those who choose potatoes as a staple food in their daily cooking.

The agreement provides for a minimum price of €0.40 per kilo for a defined quota of first-class produce, based on the areas resulting from production commitments validated by Agripat.

In a context marked by rising production costs, market instability and persistent inflation, this guarantee represents an important safeguard against uncertainty and a clear sign of responsibility throughout the supply chain.

For Romagnoli F.lli, which has always been committed to promoting Italian potato farming, the agreement goes beyond the economic aspect. It means strengthening a supply chain model based on collaboration, transparency and long-term vision, in which the value of agricultural work is recognised and protected. When producers can count on a more solid foundation, it becomes possible to invest in quality, innovation and sustainability, to the benefit of all.

This agreement also has concrete significance for consumers. Behind every potato that arrives on our tables, there is a delicate balance between agriculture, the environment and the market. Supporting initiatives that reduce risk for farms means helping to preserve cultivated land and ensuring a constant supply of quality products, grown with respect for the land.

As Agripat pointed out, the guaranteed minimum price is not only economic protection, but also a message of solidarity with producers and an invitation to the entire supply chain, including distribution, to recognise the true value of responsible choices. This approach helps to strengthen a sustainable agricultural model that is ready to face the challenges ahead without compromising on quality.

For Romagnoli F.lli, investing in the stability of the supply chain means investing in the future of Italian potatoes. A future that starts in the fields, but concerns us all.
